The design allows for both 12 volt DC input from a car or solar panel or 120 volt AC input from grid power for charging. Output will be 12 volt DC, 120 volt AC, and USB. Kickstarter Lithium Battery Backup System

Battery Backup Power, Inc. is raising capital to launch its Lithium uninterruptible power supply (UPS)/battery backup system product lineup in the United States after testing and negotiating with part suppliers. The design allows for both 12 volt DC input from a car or solar panel or 120 volt AC input from grid power for charging. Output will be 12 volt DC, 120 volt AC, and USB. Funds raised will initially go to producing the first 500 units with standard NEMA 5-15 receptacles (sockets required to power most consumer electronics in the United States) as well as UL testing and certification. The first units produced will be portable 500 watt maximum, 1,000 watt surge, 26 amp hour systems. The high amp hour rating of the Lithium battery/batteries will mean that electronics can be run for hours on battery power as opposed to just minutes. Lithium batteries are significantly lighter than Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries typically found in UPS systems and typically last over 2,000 discharge/charge cycles (5.47 years if used every single day). Current Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries typically only last around 300 discharge/charge cycles (0.82 years if used every single day). How To Enable Generator Mode On Battery Backup Power, Inc. Online (Double Conversion) Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)

Enabling Generator Mode Allows the Battery Backup Power, Inc. Online Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) To Accept A Wider Voltage Range and Wider Frequency Variation Than It Would Normally Accept When Plugged Into A Wall Socket On Grid Power. This Allows The UPS To Use More Of The Generator’s Somewhat Dirtier Power. When Turning On Generator Mode, The “Bypass Disable” Option Pops Up. This Option Allows You To Essentially Pass The Generator Power Though The UPS Unfiltered. In Most Cases, You Will Just Press Enter To Leave The Bypass Option Disabled.

When Pressing The Option Button, These Are The Options You Will See Before Arriving At “Generator”.
